Leadership Development

The Leadership Development Program is for all middle school and high school youth in the Town of Smithtown. This program provides the skills necessary to participate successfully in groups and to lead school organizations, the workplace and society. It is designed to enhance the leadership skills of youth through high quality, interactive skill building workshops to produce strong emerging leaders.
The League of Women Voters and the Smithtown Youth Bureau cooperate with local school districts to provide this
prpogram which:
Develops group leadership skills
Promotes self-confidence and positive attitudes
Creates opportunities to work effectively with diverse groups
Builds a network of student leaders
Provides adult mentors and role models
Fosters opportunities for community service and leadership opportunities
Positions youth for future job skills and educational success
