Maple Sugaring
This ancient process, taught to the Colonists by the Indians, is alive and well at Hoyt Farm. Throughout February and the beginning of March we will be tapping trees and making syrup.
We will present 4 sessions this year. In each class we will demonstrate both native American and Colonial techniques, and produce some real syrup which you can taste. In addition, we will demonstrate how to make and select equipment, and identify and tap trees so you may try sugaring on your own. Bring your family and friends and enjoy this American tradition!
We will offer classes on the following dates:
Sunday, February 21, 2010
Sunday, February 28, 2010
Sunday March 7, 2010
Sunday, March 14, 2010
Dress warm, this is an outdoor program!
All classes start near the garage at 1:30pm and
run 1 1/2 hours.
There is a fee of $3.00/person or $8.00/family.
